About Mario
HELLO!
What started out as an interest in stop-motion animation at an earlier age developed into a full-fledged career behind the camera at 24 frames per second. Mario graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in film production from Cal State University Northridge in 2009. While in college he got his start in the film industry through the lighting department as a Gaffer, where some of his works were recognized by Kodak and the ASC. Longing to be closer to the action, Mario later transitioned into the camera guild as focus puller and camera operator, working under some of the great cinematographers of our day. He has operated camera on several notable films and series including 1923 (Paramount) and Everything Everywhere All at Once (A24) and 2nd Unit DP on Gaslit (Universal/Starz) and Beef (Netflix/A24). With his extensive technical background in film production, Mario is a highly versatile cinematographer with a strong appreciation for his crew. His catalog of work includes music videos for artists like Post Malone, 2 Chainz and Rich the Kid and commercials for big brands like Walmart and Dr Pepper. His documentary feature Bottle Conditioned has screened at Seattle International Film Festival, DocVille, and Florida Film Festival. When Mario is not on set, he enjoys riding freestyle bmx, growing luscious organic vegetables, diy projects and catching up with friends. His drink of choice: Oak barrel-aged mixed culture saison. contact
